is it not a restarting when you send -sf (FINISH) to the old pid and you write the new pid ?

You may have to do a
'make clean' before 'make install' if you are getting a fie format not recognized error

PHPStorm is one of the most popular IDEs for PHP now, but back when I wrote this article, it didn't exist. These days I dont use an IDE, I just use vim, but if I did use an IDE, it would be PHPStorm or Sublime Text.

It has been a while since I used the script - but I believe that when you set the db settings correctly it allows you to do a global search. Note that it only searches string fields (varchar, text etc.).

hello, i have downloaded the AnyWhereInDB php file. but if i enter any value in the database name,server,password, it will take to the search. when i enter some string nothing is displaying. if i give proper database name,password,etc also search is not working... pls help me..

Or Windows users could use Virtual Machines, wherein they can set a Linux environemnt within a Windows host. I recommend Vagrant to make this setting a VM up task easier.

Exactly. Plus, good luck finding free webhost that support... really anything else than PHP and isn't severely limited (like 5mb space/2gb transfer, no database of any kind,ads not posted by you all over the place)

Mainly because getting a working PHP environment setup correctly in windows is a major pain.

There are constant issues get getting the right PHP configurations working or apache environment setup. Things like symlinks become a major hassle - and troubleshooting is difficult (most people dont use windows for php development, so trying to find answers to problems is hard).

/path/to/shared/directory/ is the absolute directory path on server1 that you want to share with server2.

So yes... it should be the 'directory part' - something like /home/john/shared etc.
